I have heard about this, seen the banners, and now I feel the need to post about it!

Reading about this sweet little boy really touched my heart. I didn't know him or his family, but I remember hearing about it when this accident happened. My heart goes out to his family-and I think it's great they are having this 5k in his rememberence.

Result of Bryce Canyon Half marathon:

This race is my new favorite! BEAUTIFUL scenery, downhill, people cheering in the tiny town (and by town, i mean the 3 houses that we passed.) and a good PR race. (personal record)

I finished 16th in my age group out of 75. Not too shabby, I was happy with my time.

This saturday i'm running the salt lake 10K with my friend Jamie! We'll see if I survive...my calves are still burning from saturday.

Recent Happenings

This is a really random post, but you will just have to deal with it:)

Ellie, me, kelsey, and linds went to the pool and met up with Justin, brady and a few other people to go swimming! We had so much fun, and I even took Ellie down the big kids slide. (although, the life jacket covered her up to her cheeks)  it was so fun. I have a feeling that we will be spending a lot of time at the pool this summer... and I can't wait.

A couple of weeks ago, I did another hair show. It was fun! Weird to have a blonde wig on though...haven't seen myself blonde in a while:)

 oh and did I mention i'm a brunette again? actually like a purple/red ish color...wasn't really the color i had in mind, but hey, it's kinda fun for now:)

I have been so horrible lately with my running training!! This last week has been an extremely tough week for me emotionally (to say the least) so I blame it on that. I haven't had the energy to run. On my run yesterday, I look at Ellie lounging in the nice jogging stroller as i'm pushing her up this monsterous hill, and I thought to myself "why can't someone just push me in a stroller?? That would be nice...."

But I am still planning on running the Bryce Canyon half marathon this saturday. (ahhh!) I was doing so good with my training for the past couple of months but once I stop running for like a week, I get out of shape again. SO...this race will be interesting, i'm just going to try and wing it! I'm just excited to get away for a while, and running in Bryce...will be beautiful! I can't wait.

SO in love with herself. . .

no, like really.

she was making out with herself for five minutes straight. hahah

so...I've definitely come to the conclusion that I completely agree with the saying, "Everything happens for a reason." Although I have to be honest... I have always hated when people said that to me when something negative happened..because I could never understand why that sort of thing had to happen. But I now can look back at past experiences and agree that those negative things had to happen to make me stronger, or to get me to where I am in my life right now.

So this trial that i'm going through...I may not understand it now.....but I do have a small glimpse of hope that it is for the best and that I will look back in ten years and think "that experience happened for a reason, and it has made me a stronger person, I have lived and learned and grown from it."

I am so grateful for my friends, my family, and especially Ellie in my life. She has taught me so much and I am so excited to go through this amazing lifetime with her by my side. I know that she is just a baby, but her happy little self has taught me so much. She makes my whole mood change dramatically just when she flashes one of her cheesy grins at me. She has humbled me so much, and I just know I will continue to grow from her example day after day.
